“RT” vs “via”

“RT” is typically used for verbatim retweets, sort of like the equivalent of “Fwd” for those chain emails your grandmother still sends you where Bill Gates will pay you money if you forward it to 10 people. “via” on the other hand is used when you want to add your own context to some existing tweet while attributing it to the original author.

My vote goes to “via.”

If someone you follow on Twitter has said something that you think your followers will want to know about, reframe it in your own context, then give credit where credit is due.
